About Arkwork

Arkwork helps people understand, build and celebrate the human value they create through work.

As AI changes what people can do and how work gets done, we believe it becomes more important to understand what you bring, how you contribute, and where your capabilities create value.

We call that value your Ark — the contribution you build through your work and carry forward with you.

Arkwork helps people see that Ark more clearly. Celebrate helps you recognise the people whose contributions make work better. Discover helps you understand your strengths, contribution and opportunities to grow your career.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief

Celebrate Human. Build Up One Another.

Because the Ark isn't a job title, a CV or a label. It's the value you create — and the value you carry forward.

The Arkwork Human Capability Framework

What can a person do, how do they extend that capability, and in what context does it create value?

The Framework

Three lenses, working together

Capability, Amplification and Context are not scored separately. They interact — and that interaction is what shapes human contribution.

What Is Human Capability?

What is the idea?

The Human Capability Framework (HCF) describes how Arkwork thinks about human capability and the creation of human value at work. It looks at value through three lenses, not one score.

Capability

What you know and can do. This includes knowledge, skills, judgement and demonstrated ability.

Amplification

How you extend what you can do. People amplify capability through technology, AI, people, collaboration, communication, systems, networks, processes and influence.

Context

Where, when and how your capability creates value. The same capability can create very different outcomes in different environments — role, organisation, team, resources, constraints, opportunities and the systems around you.

Why It Matters

Why does capability alone not tell the whole story?

AI is changing what people can do. It is also changing how people create value. A framework built only around skills or knowledge misses how much value comes from how a capability is extended, and where it's applied. Capability, Amplification and Context interact to shape the value a person can create — that interaction is what HCF is built to describe.

Arkwork's Lens

How Arkwork thinks about human value

HCF is a lens for reasoning, not a mathematical formula for calculating a person's worth. Arkwork uses it to ask a practical question about someone's professional experience:

How does this person create value, and where could that value be strengthened or better applied?

Not: what type of person are you. HCF doesn't replace recognised competency frameworks, and it doesn't require inventing a new taxonomy of skills — it sits above that detail, as a way of connecting what someone can do to where it actually matters.

HCF is a lens for reasoning, not a mathematical formula for calculating a person’s worth.

02

It asks how a person creates value — not what type of person they are.

It doesn’t replace recognised competency frameworks, or invent a new taxonomy of skills.

Research Foundations

What research supports the framework?

HCF draws on established research in competency theory, organisational psychology and career development, rather than replacing it.

What The Research Shows

Decades of work in competency theory, organisational psychology and career development on how skills, environment and opportunity shape outcomes.

What Arkwork Concludes

Where Arkwork forms its own view on how these ideas fit together, that interpretation is ours — and we're explicit about the difference between what established research shows and what Arkwork concludes from it.

Limitations

Where are the limitations?

Does not measure a universal law of human value.

Doesn’t predict career outcomes with certainty.

Cannot fully capture someone’s context from evidence and answers alone.

A conceptual framework used to structure reasoning, not a scientifically validated equation.

The detailed methods Arkwork uses to interpret evidence, ask questions and reason about someone's profile are part of the product itself and aren't published here.

In Practice

What does this mean in practice?

Inside Discover, HCF is the conceptual foundation for interpreting professional evidence — strengths, blind spots, contribution patterns, working style, career leverage and development opportunities. It's the reason a Discover report talks about where your capability creates value, not just what you're capable of.
